At a time when much ado is being made about the alleged rise of vaping among teens, and the implications of this in regards to a later habit of cigarette smoking, it is becoming increasingly difficult to find balanced commentary on the topic.
Lynn Kozlowski, a Professor at the Department of Community Health and Health Behavior at the University of Buffalo, wrote a piece for The Conversation on this subject. He examines the 'hype' over vaping as a 'gateway' to smoking in a refreshingly balanced way.

In an op-ed piece for the Los Angeles Times last week, Stephen D. Sugarman, a professor at the UC Berkeley School of Law, took a look at why "blanket laws discouraging the use of e-cigarettes are the wrong policy move".
He suggests three complimentary policy ideas to instead encourage vaping, and "nudge many more Americans to quit smoking".
